Love those monte carlo stocks... wish they were closer to $100. I wonder if those tech sights could be added to an SKS with a Choate scope mount.

One of the inherent issues I've found with the SKS stock is that when you have it properly butted against the shoulder, its a bit of a strain to get the cheek low enough to rest on it. Its one of the reasons why I like the idea of those Tapco Timbersmith wood monte carlo stocks (as pictured above), that have the built in cheek rest.

Wow, leave for a weekend, and BAM! I really like this forum. Thanks for all the advice. So I went to a gun show in Springbank, and a kid there sold me on a bc tactical with a red dot he assured me would fit. Well, first I can't get the mount to fit, it sits about a full cm too high. I could grind it, but grinding off a full cm would destroy he thing. Plus the red dot he sold me on doesn't fit the mount anyway. Well this has not gone as I would have liked at all.

My thoughts precisely. It does have BCTactical engraved on the side and SKS on the top. But It was a SERIOUS B***H to get in place, and it doesn't even come close to fitting right.
The video didn't say ANYTHING about taking out the sight spring, I assumed that was a part of what held it into place so well. and if you mean those little threaded hex bolts that come with the mount, then yes. yes I did. Although now the front one is stripped from trying to force the thing to level out. AAAAARGHH!
