SKS: Optics, sights & mounts.... update feb 16, 2010

The ones he sells on his website for the Cz58/858 will not fit onto a SKS. They look the same but they are not. The one he made for me is an actual SKS rear site that he ordered just for the job.
Hi jt_trouble.
Does it is possible to do an individual order under SKS 45 ?
Thank you for an answer,
Kristian.

Dave has 2 that may still be available for sale in the EE at the moment. They are not marked sold yet. They are the prototypes to the one above. I'll pm you with the link. You will need access to the EE to see them.

SKS Weaver Converta Mount.

I have posted a few times in other threads about another choice for a "Over the Barrel Weaver Mount" for the SKS. It is a Weaver Converta Mount that is made for shotguns but it fits the SKS perfect with only minor fabrication. All the fabrication can be done with basic tools in a couple of hours. The parts are cheap and robust that can be found on Ebay for $15.00 to $20.00. I have tried just about every mount out there in the drill and tap variety as well as others and the weaver converta mount wins hands down. The pros and cons to this mount are:
Pro's

- The ability to custom fit the optics to you.
- The ability to change optics in seconds.
- Remove the optic for break down of the rifle for cleaning.
- Zero retention second to none.
- The use on multiple optic formats.
- Clean looking installation.

The only con I can think of is the fabrication if you are not inclined to do it.

I have been using this setup for several months with over 900 rounds shot with different optics. I am confident to say, this system works.

For all you CZ 58/858 boys this mount looks like it will work, just waiting for a friends rifle for final fitment.

If you need further info, give me a PM

What kind of scope rings are you using for that NcStar scope??

I've got a Choate scope mount that I plan to have mounted similar to your Weaver mount. I just don't like the fact that if I mount the Choate where it's supposed to be, I can't use stripper clips with the scope (a cheapo NcStar 4x30).

I think that if I mount the Choate as far back on the receiver as I can with 3 screws instead of 4 it really won't make a difference in mount stability, and I'll be able to use stripper clips. Has anyone done this and if so, what do you think about it?

The rings that are used are Nc Star #RB23, the Compact Scope needs a narrow ring. The Choate mount can be mounted anywhere, just as long as it works for you. Not to many options with the Choate.

i'm very interested in mount what base did you buy to mount converta mount to sks remington 870 on winchester for example

I was wondering how you guys with the posp scope on your guns are liking them? I am looking at getting one for mine, anyone know where you can buy one in canada. I found some on ebay in russia.

Converta Mount?

Where and how much to buy the converta mount?

If I can find one my plan is to try to mount it to my Norinco SKS.

I ordered a Norinco SKS from Marstar, and they have arrived at the store.

I was hoping to buy one of these tactical upgrade stock kits, the Strikeforce. They are available at AFI Tactical, but they don't ship to Canada

No other SKS stock offers so many features in one package.
The features include a tri-rail hand guard, ergonomic pistol grip, six position folding stock, and an adjustable cheek piece. You can easily turn your SKS into a true tactical rifle in short order with the all new ATI SKS Strikeforce package. You can attach a vertical grip, tactical light and laser onto the tri-rail hand guard. The Strikeforce package is proudly made in the USA and is guaranteed for life by ATI.

Now that I found out that they don't ship to Canada, I'm a little bummed out. Anyone recommend a Canadian dealer that sell the Strikeforce package?
