SKS Pinned to 5 rounds....with bolt and washers....

i say pull the mag off and get some rivets at cdn tire or where ever and redo the job, itll look a lot better than epoxy and then youll know for sure youre good to go. that or buy another mag and destroy that one

^^^^ this is the best way Id say. short of that my buddy has a factory mag off his russian he is selling.

I would remove that monstrosity and have a professional welder fill the hole, grind and polish; and then have him weld a small piece of barstock to the follower arm. It may be cheaper to buy a replacement mag but I believe in restoring/keeping original parts whenever possible.

Just pull the mag off and take it to any small shop/corner garage etc... anyone with a MIG welder will take 5 seconds to make that permanent. A quick shot inside the nut to fuse it to the bolt and you are good to go. If you can't find anyone near you I will do it for you for free just PM me.

I would take the mag off and dismantle it and look around for another original with a factory stopper someone removed for a tapco mag, I bet you could get one cheap at your local gun store as well.

Looks like someone was a victim of the plug falling out. It's an easy fix.I had one that was done by a tiny (like 1/8 inch) hole being drilled in the bottom of the mag, and the plug spot welded on from the outside. It broke off after firing abotu 100 rounds. Apparently welding a heavy plug onto a piece of sheet metal is not the appropriate way lol.

I drilled and tapped the plug, filled the plug with epoxy and screwed it on TIGHT, then ground the screw head off so you couldn't get a screwdriver into it. Took abotu 5 mins to fix and there was no question of legality.

I have seen that type of bolt before. I recall a batch of SKS that had a welded post ion the bottom of the mag well and the posts would break loose. Guys would then put a bolt in. If it was mine i would take it apart and reassemble with some red Loktite.
