SKS price alert

Weeelll, Cab/BP has always been shi& for prices, even their "Sales" run about what other vendors retail at. A month ago Tenda had F-Ts for $490, now they're at $580 - so why is Cab/BP a good price at $640 ? ? The only advantage is IF they're cleaned of ALL Cosmo . Mine was a project I chose to do outside this past summer (Varsol & brush) at $490. $150 saved back then.

No one said they were a good price at 640.
They were in sale up until yesterday or the day before for 440, I just pointed out that the regular price had gone up.

I Always wanted a Yugo, I Remeber a sponsor bringing in some like new ones for $800 a few years back, .... but always seems to want another one!
i remember several years ago before marstar got into hot water here, john sold his personal unissued yugo for $500, a few were consecutive numbers.... i think russian were selling for $300 at that time. those would be worth $1500 i'd say.

I paid a case of ammo and was coming with a free SKS brand new chinese
Nice. It almost sounds too good to be true. But I do remember those days

I wish I would have bought one in 1995 at the Kamloops gun show. There were $99.99 and a case of ammunition was also inexpensive. Unfortunately I don't remember the ammo prices......:(

I've had a few SKS models over the years and always got rid of them.
Never saw what the attraction and fanfare was, 70 year old beat up guns with crappy metal work, ridiculously ugly finishes, lowest quality wood, trigger that I bet those tiny Asians strain to pull.
I had a hard time paying and justifying $139 for one , how people are OK paying $700 with taxes is just beyond me.

I saw the Cabelas SKS in Halifax last week on my monthly trip there.

I'd be embarrassed to be proud to own what was on display.

Nobody cares.

Things have changed, no more cheap SKS they'll never be $200 again just like if they do come back expect Chinese ARs to be $1200-1500 and the M305 to be $1500-2000 with real M1As at 2.5-3k ish
I think that's mostly a function of the crappy dollar and inflation. Nothing's inexpensive anymore. The government won't have to ban anything, it'll just eventually get too expensive for anyone but the rich to be able to afford firearms, never mind buying the ammo, range memberships and gas to go shooting.

As it is, I cringe everytime I shoot 223 and 308 because it'll be harder these days to replace what I shoot. I can still afford to buy the ammo fortunately, but not 1000-2000 rounds at a time like I could 12 years ago. No point in reloading unless you're going for supper specific match grade results cuz it's not any cheaper anymore.

The way I see it is if we already own the rifle and it goes up in price all of us are going sweet I can make money if I sell it.
If we don’t own it and price goes up we whine and complain because now it’s more expensive to buy. I thought paying $250 was expensive for an SKS when I bought my two. Now what are my two Izzys worth? Would I buy a Chinese for current retail price, probably not.

Yeah I bought a bolt gun in 762x39 just to slow down the rate of consumption. There's still that and 22lr anyway.
My Ruger Ranch in x39 does MOA out to 175 (all I have a range for) with Ch-MS, and better with 'good ammo' like Barnaul or S&B - still under $1/round. And my F-T does 2-4MOA with irons - I'm not that great a shot but not alot of 'good. ammo out there.
Hitting 8-1/2 x 11 @ 100 is good for SKS-irons for me since I can't 'see' the bull clearly at 100 ( "paint can" ).

Yeah my eyesight is crap so 8 1/2 x 11 @ 50-100 with irons is good enough for me and I didn't plan on shooting 762x39 farther than that
