SKS price alert

Why is their surplus ammo so expensive? Over 50 cents, you can get non corrosive from other places for that price. I remember when cabelas boxing week sales was one of the cheapest places to find corrosive surplus ammo

Ever since Cabela's and Bass Pro merged the prices have gone retarded.
I just can't shop there anymore.

Pricing is top notch though and I've got a few $100 serviceable 22's , I could sell one as soon as I took possession of an SKS and that muddies the waters as too the exact location of the SKS if I get one.

Everyone should have ½ dozen guns like this.
No firearm need change hands.
There is no record in private sales as to whether a firearm actually changed hands or not.
You are just getting a transfer number IN CASE you complete a deal.
Validating PAL is a prerequisite to transfer, but you can always back out after.

You could also order 10 guns and only validate your pal once for the whole order

Type 56 = 1956 (tho some say s/b 1955 ? ) - add the First TWO digits of the SN = Date of Mfr.
PLA used 56 to indicate its begin of service year.
They could be manufactured way ahead of the year for obvious reason.

Note that in Chinese, they actually call SKS "Type 56 semi" to make difference from another "Type 56 Assault Rifle" (a copy of AK 47).

I believe the 'sale' was last week. Note this thread started last Friday, and most stores have only limited stock. The online price is higher and SKS is not on 'new flyer.

BP in Niagara have some nice ones - the guy at the counter said they were selling all in all they sold 26 fireams last Sunday not only SKS but semi-auto shotguns. He also mentioned that tariffs and our loonie (losing value) equates higher prices 1st quater of 2025 especially for ammo.

So it begins. Check out wild West's consignment page as per reddit. $1400 Sks 🤣🤣
