CCI No.34 ARSENAL PRIMERS are made for 7.62 ammunition. If you can find them.

They're made for 7.62NATO (7.62x51mm) ammo and meet NATO specifications. They should also work for x39 and x54R as Soviet military ammo also had harder primers but I'm pretty sure Combloc ammo isn't nearly as standardized/regulated as NATO stuff.

Budget Shooter Supply up top has them listed as in stock in 1000 and 5000 count packages.

I use CCI BR4 primers in my semi-autos. One of the thickest primer cup walls out there (some other good posts here on CGN cover this well). I do the "shake test" on my SKS rifles routinely (pull the bolt, shake it, and you should hear the bolt rattle back and forth freely - a quick check).

I've fired hundreds of my reloads using CCI LR primers in my Norc SKS without a problem.

Thanks for the info! I had a case of Monday brain; the primers that are giving me trouble are Federal; (I just got home from work and double checked). So, it sounds like the first step is to switch to CCI and make sure they are seated below flush. I appreciate all the advice, cheers!

That makes a lot more sense. I said "If you had said Federal primer, I would not have been surprised. But CCI - that is a surprise."

I reloaded .223 with federal primers and i had slamfire (double fire) on a regular basis in my AR-15 just with the firing pin inertia.

Never had any problems with CCI tough.

I think the OP has shown he has more than enough knowledge of how to clean his rifle... A nice clean SKS firing pin will set off soft primers when the bolt slams forward...simple fact. Most any CCI primer should be ok. I have had no issues with CCI 200s...

Have someone else give the OP advice..you're not doing it right.
