Hey folks, I am fairly new to gun collecting and target shooting so bare with me.. :)

I have purchased an Chinese SKS, shoot it and love it. I have installed the ATI Strike force adjustable stock and love it, how ever in my en devour to get that nasty little pin out of the gas tube, I managed to bugger it up. :( I mean I cud still do a home fix to get by, but I would rather change it out and buy a new one.

So my 1st Question is any recommendations for where I can get this SKS Gas Tube? Doesnt have to be stock if there are other options. I live just outside of Calgary,Ab. Can order online just cant seem to find one online other then EBAY.

2nd question, I would like to add a scope and mount, something under $100.00 just to get started with, and maybe a laser site and flashlight.

Hopefully something I can get local or order from close by, but anywhere will do really.

Any other ideas are welcome for dressing one up, I may have to buy 1 or 10 more.. lol :ar15:

Thanks and hope I posted this in or near by the correct thread.

Last I checked Lever Arms had SKS parts available, check them or the EE.

As for the rest of your questions I'm afraid I'm no help. I once bought a Russian in Tapco, not sure what it was about it that I found so offensive I got rid of it in a hurry. Maybe it was the cheap mag or that I found it a pain to properly clean the rifle, can't put my finger on it. How do you find the ATI kit? I have several SKSs, they are an absolute blast and love the platform, I guess I'm more of a purist when it comes to these beauties, to each his own.

Btw welcome to CGN

Awesome Thanks, never heard of Lever Arms, and they got whats I need as far as the gas tube goes. Their Optics are a tad more then what I want at the moment, as far as what I think about the ATI Stock, I really found it easy to install and a great look. Only thing that required some mods was every screw that came with to mount the picatinny's was a 1/8" to short to catch the nut, so I had to remove some material from the picatinny holes. The barrel definitely doesnt slop around like it did in the wood stock, the next one I will most likely leave original, this one the Stock was not in to great of shape.

Anyways Thanks again, still taking input on good starter optics for the SKS. :)

If you can drill out the buggered pin and PM me your mailing address I have 2 extra spare retainer pins I can send ya. Tap it back in place and you should be good to go. As for gas tube's I would call either marstar or sksman.com. leverarms should have them to instock but I would never tell anyone to go there cause there customer service is doa.
