(i was aiming at the bottom/middle of the black tape; stock Chinese (marstar) SKS)

Its been months since a shot an sks. I had forgot how much fun they are and how short the stock is!
Kept hitting my cheek with my thumb. Next time i will take the slip on limbsaver

They got to be in the top 5 SHTF rifles.
 
That shoots a little bit better than your typical sks. You might improve the groups a bit by using PRVI ammo, though pricier compared to surplus, but if youre looking for accuracy, it has a cost.
 
I have been getting great results with Prvi, but it's expensive.
My average 100 yard 5 round group is between 3 and 4 inches using the iron sights. That is just as good as the Polytech M305 I used to own (using irons). About 50% of the time I do get a flier, but I think it's more to do with the nut behind the gun.
 
Yes it was an excellent group. Went out today with my cz 22 and could not hit the side of a barn. The flyer is a flyer I have no idea why, likely the nut behind the wheel. I want to get back out agin soon with the sks and do the 200 yards again and see if that group was a fluke. I am trying to use open sights as long as I can, getting near 60 so ....
 
Personally I never understood why the SKS Rifle has/is put down for being an inaccurate Rifle..I have two Chinese type 56 and a Russian 1953 Tula and I have taken all three out to the Range at one time or another and all were shooting on target @ 100 Yds (3-4 inch groupings) which IMHO is not bad at all with open sights. A friend of mine brought his 30-30 Winchester Rifle to the Range one time and we compared one of my Type 56 SKS against his 30-30 @ 100 yds and honestly there was no or very little difference in the groupings at all.
