1954 Russian SKS. Looked like it had been through WW3. The only wood I could use was on the gas tube and what you see on the foreend. The rest was fabricated from scrap metal in my garage. The only aftermarket part is the bolt cover scope mount and the Browning Reflex Sight.

I can't wait to see this gun in 30 years on here with someone saying look what bubba did to this sks

In all seriousness it's your gun... What ever makes you happy ... Except for crude spray painting and writing crappy band names on the side .., or covering it in fake blood... If you don't do either one of those do what you want.

I like it man,..I see this as a anything that can keep you busy in the ole garage!!.
Better than being an armchair critic hey..;)
thx for sharing

Shoots just like an SKS should. No failures to feed or extract. Trigger is a bit heavy, about 8 lbs. The pull was a bit gritty, but after a good cleaning and use, it got a lot smoother. I'm happy with it. It's a fun gun and cheap to shoot. I think these rifles are way undervalued.

At first I was horrified but then I started laughing.

I would have to agree with you,..these ARE undervalued. I like to see alterations and different ideas. Home made stuff is great...and why not, theres a kazillion of these in the country. Good for you.
Back in the 70"s ,.Enfields 303 rifles were cheap and everywhare...I use to alter every one I had LOL.
