SKS - Red dot?

For 200 you can put a mil-spec optic such as the PK-A or a PDK-23 on your sks. They are available from eastwavescope.com
These are made in the Russian Federation and are in use with Various armed forces. For example the Venezualan Army uses a variant of the PK-A that takes AA bateries.

Second that.

The Venezuela PK-A model is the one to get as it can be bore centered. A bit pricey mind you. But I'm the foolish type who buys optics that are more expensive then the value of the rifle.

I've looked at them, they look like good sights. How are they mounted? I ask becasue I already have the Choate mount drilled and tapped into the receiver. And from the looks of they also need to be mouted that way?

There are a few of these optics that offer milspec quality at a fairly cheap price. I mentioned the two models in my previous post specificly as they are available with a weaver mount to fit your choate mount.

Yes, bit of foam and black electrical tape.I was getting the occasional jam using a deflector so I just wrapped the scope up.
I’ve been meaning to do that ejection port modification and see where it throws the cases but haven’t got around to it.

Thats a good idea, I've heard that the shell deflector could and will cause some stoppages. You can barely see the tape though, good call.

Thank you, Il keep them in mind for my next red dot purchase.
