SKS: russian or chinese? Accuracy and reliability

Get a russian refurb if your gonna shoot it
see another thread for levels of rare if your collecting
and a chinese if you have bubba on your mind
As for accuracy great fun out to 200 or so
cheers

I don't really understand why everyone favours the russian model over the Chinese military. I own both, they are exactly the same in terms of accuracy and metal finish. The bayonets are different I guess, but I don't plan on charging into "no mans land" any time soon. I also don't really like the red stain finish on the Russian stock. I think you can't go wrong with either, but I'd call the two models completely equal IMO.

Year, thanks, I checked yesterday, and they didn't have them !
How do you know that these rifles are unissued ? Description doesn't tell about that.
And while I get my new safe, can I store SKS in shipping crate, if I put lock on it ?

Grab the 49!!!!! It will keep me from buying it!!!LOL

Nah, I have to stop. make room for other rifles. LE, Garand, SVT40, Mosin Nagant, Springfield... etc

On with the topic at hand. I will most likely be getting an early Chinese with a blade bayo when I find a nice Yugo M59 and M59/66. Yes they are of same quality as others have noted. But, I will leave the chinese for the tacticool crowed.

I have a norinco export model sks it is dead accurate but the finish and wood are below sub par great beater gun i paid 150 no tax for it so it wasnt a terrible buy i will probably replace it when the t97nsr shows up for lack of space in my safe

Long time lurker and I have been thinking about getting an SKS for a while and am looking at getting a Chinese unissued Type 56 rifle... The Marstar ones seem to be from the early 1960s according to their site but I noticed that they do not have the blade bayo... Wondering if they are maybe late 60s-early 70s due to the spike bayo...

I am waiting on my Chinese from MArstar when they find what I am looking for. Not trying to be too picky as I Love my Russian SKS' and cannot bear to shoot any but my first Refurb I bough. So buying a Chinese for a second shooter! But My Russians will be my collectors! If you wanna shoot them buy an unissued refurb like I did at Cabelas, looks to be all #'s matching other than a forced matched Lam stock or grab a ruskie from westrifle and a Chinese from Marstar, either way you go you will find that the breed in the gun-safe, even if you only have one to start with!

OP............Just take a look at he thread " Pleasantly surprised " on this forum.

Need I say any more :)
Good luck and I hope you score one as nice as he did.
