To be fair it could have been a modded sear
At which point that's even more negligent IMO. Shouldn't be making modifications to a trigger if you can't even work the safety without being a hazard.

I hunt with a fudd that scares me with his rifle and Ive mentioned it a few times. Loads one in the chamber, puts safety on and then pulls the trigger to make sure it works.... then he slung the rifle onto his shoulder and turned around with the muzzle right in my face. Good times. I dont trust him anymore and stay clear of him when he has a loaded firearm.

Well as a few US folks have done, I tested my sks rifles, they had the ammunition, and if they so saw it fit go and shoot, nut they stayed put on my porch and never touched the ammunition, had my neighbor looking but he came over, petted and handled the rifles, wanted to go play with them haha
Step away from the booze when posting
Hi Everyone,
A couple of years ago, I became a big SKS fan. But then at the range...
I was taking the safety off, while wearing gloves. The glove's finger tip went inside the trigger guard, and BOOM! I accidentally fired a round. No harm done, the muzzle was pointed down-range, as it should be.
The experience made me rethink buying an SKS. I understand it was *MY* mistake. But I don't think I want to own a firearm where it is so easy to make that mistake.
As the story ends, a friend easily convinced me to go for an M14 instead.
Прощай скс! (translation: "Goodbye SKS!").
Cheers,
Neil
The SKS I was shooting was a loaner at the range from a friend. It was fairly recently bought from Cabela's, so I don't know anything about what condition the sear was in.
But I'll be clear: I agree that it was my fault. I ain't blaming the rifle. I am saying that I don't like the rifle.
As Travis points out, the SKS got rid of me.![]()
What's the point of this thread, if the sks discharged because of touching the safety but not the trigger I could see an issue but your finger touched the trigger, so non-issue.
Sometimes if you don't put enough wraps on the TP your finger will go through, but then again ice cream has no bones
How many wraps would be a good start in your own opinion ?
