Hello everyone,

I am thinking about putting a scope on my SKS
I do not want to drill and tap the receiver

I saw this one:
cgi.ebay.ca/SKS-4X30-RIFLE-SCOPE-WITH-TRI-RAIL-MOUNT-COMBO-PACKAGE_W0QQitemZ250614868388QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_2?hash=item3a59cf69a4#ht_2432wt_1165

What do you think about it?
I know i cannot expect it to hold the zero very well but has anyone tried it out?

Do you think the shells that flying around will hit the scope and damage it or is it short enough to avoid the casings?

Thanks

I had a SKS, with a scope mount similar to this style.
Every time you take that receiver cap off to do a good cleaning you lose zero again.
After a while of doing this, I went to the fixed, tapped in version. the casings cleared the scope, but each rifle is different.

i have one my sks the rings they sent with mine were 1 inch high which was a little too high. the shells dont hit the scope at all on mine but i recently took it off to put the scope on my remington vtr .22

If it doesn't hold zero, why bother?

You HAVE to drill and tap in order to get a decent scope onto a SKS - or just buy nice iron sights from SKS man.

Place a business card between the 4 bolt's and receiver. Then use red lock tight and tighten. This will allow enough clearance to allow the rear receiver mount to come on and off the rifle without effecting the POI to much. Also look for a buffer tech for the sks to keep the rear spring in the same spot to increase your accuracy threw repeatability. The only down side of this package will be the scope itself. As NcStar optic's are sometimes a hit but most of the times a miss. Hope this personal advise help's you better decide on your purchase.
