hi... is it possible to tell if an sks has a threaded or pinned barrel from its serial number? also, info on manufacturing date and place? it's a norinco chinese and the serial number range is: 05633. stock and receiver numbers match. thanks! sorry if this has been discussed, i'm having trouble getting the search to work very well. cheers

no because many different factories made SKSs, and the serials are therefore not necessarily unique/in order/known. Taking the SKS out of the wood and peering at it will answer that question

I have never found much info on what factories where located where etc etc. If anyone has such details, it would be interesting. However I suppose only Mao has that info
