SKS - shells flying to the right

According to the russian forum filing the receiver as pictured would make shells fly to the right...What do you think?

mostly up and hit optics, that's why people use deflectors

I dont see how that mod would change your ejection path since the "fix" ejector is in the same place still.

That's is what I thought too...but what normally makes shells fly up if the ejector is on the left and shell holder is about 2 o'clock?

My SKS shoots casings into my face when I put it in the same case as a K98

Mine seem to exit on the right. The spent casings do spend alot of time in the air, so they probably go pretty much straight up and a bit to the right. I've never actually watched the flightpath.

i know when i start shooting mine, if i'm not the leftmost shooter, people will start to make barricades

My Tula 1951 sends them out from the rifle at about 2 o'clock looking down, in a high arc. The roof over the benchs is very high and they always clear it.

And I agree with LouTHEPoo that is the best shooring image of the day
