Did anyone try to bolt the Choate side mount forward beside and over their bolt? Would that prevent smooth ejection of spent brass? I toying with the idea as the mount itself would probably act as a deflector for empties and the placement over the closed bolt would also put a red-dot sigth in a good place... Plus, the dissasembly of the rifle would be easier than with the mount over the rear cover...

Before anyone raises the issue of stripper clips and reloading, I have an SKS-D!

I was considering that with mine but didn't want to pound 4 holes in the side of my SKS that might not be needed, it would suck if it didn't work. I wouldn't want my mount getting smacked every time. If you are using a red dot eye relief shouldn't matter. I have no troubles taking my rifle apart with the mount.
