SKS side scope mount?

Looking to potentially mount a scope onto my SKS, but looking for a mount:

I would like something that will hold zero , not provide a hindrance to reloading with clips, co-witness with the iron sights without blocking my field of view.
As for the scope I would like to mount some kind of large scope - similar to what is seen in Mad Max

What I am thinking is going custom and getting a scope mounted to the left side of the receiver- some kind of mount drilled & tapped left of the bolt - on top of all the above advantages, the mount is also low profile. Also the SKS isn't especially accurate so the optic not being in line with the bore shouldn't be too much to worry about.

Opinions? suggestions? could anybody suggest how I could go about making one or someplace that may make such an item?

If you look in my E&E adds, i have a spare one for sale with glass if interested and was voted the best side mount on the market.

This is my other by Promag, as you can see you can't go to low on this model, however on the above model you could go lots lower.
They are both rock solid, one is a detach and the other isn't.

Crazy Ivan, Promag and Choate all make excellent mounts for short optics or red dots, you choose.

not really waht im looking for - could you conceivably mount one of these mounts on backwards so you can still load with clips?

Any suggestions for a custom/ DIY solution?

Guys im not looking for suggestions for a scope mount -

Im looking for a offset mount similar to what you see on the type 97 sniper - I wanted to know what the considerations are when making a custom mount, having an offset scope, etc....

I read your original post again and if you can come up with a way to co-witness the iron sights that would be a real engineering masterpiece. Maybe I'm still not understanding what your asking in the OP. You could build something to mount a scope to the side, I guess, but co-witnessing the original sights would be real hard to do that way.

@airhorn_69 - thats pretty much what I'm looking to build, I guess the addley mount is a decent option but its a bit tactical should it be to difficult to make.

A question i have is does the offset optic have an impact on accuracy? does it matter with a gun like the SKS at the ranges that its useful for (under 300 yards)

As for the guys on page 1 saying my question was vague- the thread is literally called "sks side scope mount"

Thanks, the Addley mount that's the one I remembered but forgot the name.

As force the offset system it is a bit sketchy and only experience I have heard from is the M1-D Garand but am sure the SKS should be fine with this concept @ 300m but more than 400 I would question this.

I believe the sighting on this is that where you zero for the center the actual POI would be off by 2" to the left at let say 100m but could be dead center @ 300m if the rifle is zeroed properly, somewhat of a triangular zero. I'm sure if you read on the Garand sniper you'll find all the info needed on this imperfection but at the time it was the best they could with clip fed semi auto.

The mount is a whole different story but not impossible.. I d consider bending an existing rail to offset?
