Good day!

I have SKS with POI approximately 6" HIGH and RIGHT of POA at 100 metres.

Using the SKS/AK47 sight adjustment tool, I would assume that I need to INCREASE the height of the foresight, and move the foresight to the RIGHT to bring POA and POI together...

But how much? Half a turn? A full turn?

Thanks in advance!

Neal

To lower your Point Of Impact, you need to raise the height of the front post by turning the post counter-clockwise. Try a quarter turn at a time.

To move your POI to the left, move the post to the right. Try a quarter turn of the front sight adjustment tool screw, at a time. Just so we are oriented the same, right side of the rifle is same as your right hand when you are shooting.

easyrider604 has it. I'll only add that it is ammo dependent as well... ie, you'll see this type of variation if you run different ammo's through the gun...

Cheers

K, hang on a second....

I am currently having to aim off left to hit center of target. (POI is RIGHT of POA).

So, keeping the bore aligned where it is (hitting center), should the post not have to move RIGHT on the muzzle, from where it is currently off the to the left of the center of the target?

This always hurts my brain...

Rule #1: move the REAR sight in the direction you want the bullet to go. Rule#2 move the front sight opposite the direction you want the bullet to go. Of course all windage adjustment on the SKS is made via the front sight. I think I have it right. It always left me unsure as to which also.

Okay, I thought I was losing my mind, but from a lee enfield website (similar to adjust for windage with front sight movement):

"To correct left of center, the front sight must be moved left and right of center is moved right."

Which seemed logical to me.

Thanks all.

I shouldn't try to figure this crap out, with a hangover...!
