SKS slam fire?

Hi guys,

I have a Chinese SKS type 56, it often shoots full auto, I believe it's slam fire. I use Czech military ammo. Any ideas how I can prevent this?

Take the bolt apart and give the Firing pin a good cleaning

Might still have the cosmoline in it, or the firing pin is installed upside down...

Most SKS firing pins are NOT spring loaded, but are free floating. When it is dirty, either from cosmo or carbon, dirt etc. the firing pin can lock in the forward position causing a slam fire. Clean the firing pin well. Its quite easy to take apart. After putting it back together, make sure it rattles when shaken. If it does not rattle you need to clean it better.

i find the regular q-tips works well in the bolt where the firing pin goes .

I just hose it down with brake cleaner. It gets any gunk out and leaves nothing behind.
