I've heard the sks have slam fire issues, is this due to the fact that these are guns from the 50's and will you get this problem with ever sks?

The SKS rifles have a floating firing pin. Slam fires occur when this firing pin gets jammed and no longer floats. I think if you take apart the bolt and clean it occasionally this should not happen and it's a non-issue.

That's right, it has nothing to do with age, it's the inherent design of a free-floating firing pin. When the pin becomes stuck forward, the action will cycle and fire every round in the magazine until it's empty, as fast as that action can physically move. Some SKS's did have a spring loaded firing pin, and there are aftermarket conversions to convert to a spring loaded firing pin, but for most people the easiest thing to do is just check the pin for free movement on a regular basis and keep it clean.

Do not oil the firing pin. Keep it clean and dry. The oil will retain any crud that gets in there and allow it to build up, potentially causing a slam-fire.

Just keep it clean. It worked fine in the field for Soviet peasant conscripts with minimal training. No further talking rquired.

i always clean and oil my bolt every time i shoot it. The oil actually keeps the crap out because it fills the space between parts. I never had any issues with mine

Negative sear

Please explain .

If you watch this i think it explains negative sear in there somewhere.

Essentially if the sear is sloped incorrectly you can get a hair trigger that can be "unpredictable".
