SKS Spring Loaded Firing Pin ?

Hey fellas,

Recently picked up an SKS and am loving it!!

Who/where can I get a spring loaded firing pin....I'd like to avoid a slam fire if possible...lol.

Thanks,

Coach
Keep your firing pin clean and dry and you will never have a slam fire problem whatever ammo you will use. My 2 cents:)
But if you really want it bad, SKSman have them and he ship to Canada.

If you use surplus ammo, do not go with the spring loaded firing pin. You may encounter soft primer hits and FTF. Same with the Wolf springs replacement hammer spring. It will improve the trigger pull but the SKS is best in stock form shooting surplus ammo made expressly for it. Keep her clean and no problems will come your way. Disassemble the bolt and clean the firing pin channel so that the pin rattles when you shake it after re assembly.

If you will ONLY ever be using commercial soft point ammo from Winchester, Remingotn etc, then the spring loaded firing pin may be a good idea because you will not be cleaning the rifle as much as you would with corrosive surplus ammo.

:agree:
Plus the spring firing pin after time can get your rifle to start pericing the primer pockets. Again this will cause the excate problem you want to advoid.
