SKS spring?.

MY new to me SKS was out for the day and so the task of cleaning it was only hours away because of the ammo . So the rifle took apart nicely as normal but that one spring loaded gas rod poped out with the spring flying somewhere . The question being what is that spring called and where can I buy a new one ?.

For further clarification I am talking about the spring under the rear sight.

I suppose you could look in the Equipment Exchange forum and see if somebody's parting out an SKS. I don't know of anyone who might sell that spring with the possible exception of SKSman in the US.

Where were you cleaning the rifle that you can't find that spring? I know it has some jump to it, but mine's never flown more than across my garage.

The rifle might function fine even without the spring.

u can try sksman dot com see if he has any..

jut reread and see it's not the firing pin spring, the one your missing you will need, try to get it from the sksman
