I am just wondering what option are out there for the SKS stock wise? I just got my Norinco SKS in the mail, it actually has a nicer peice of wood than expected.

Please post pics of stocks that are available.

I have seen the Dragonov (not my thing)

Now as far as sopes are concerned, I have been told they are not much good on an SKS but I notice alot of CGNers use them... opinions? I was thinkiing of putting a red dot on it.

Scopes ya don't really need. Just buy a 1200 pack of ammo and hone your skills with ironsights first.

Stock wise you can get one of those red synthetic "jungle" stocks. They may need some fixing up but tend to look nice once they've been painted.

Quote from Farmer Bob on previous thread: Leave it 100% stock and learn it A-Z. Its a perfect item as it is with NO alterations. (yes I have one)

Farmer Bob is right except I would put on different stock as the chinese one is rediculously short and a muzzle brake did help accuracy alot. Here is a good link for stocks:http://www.atigunstocks.com/product-SKS-Ultra.html

But don't waste your time and money on ANY optic/pimpification. I have a Russian and a "D" variant. To get the chinese to shoot close to as well as the russian I had to throw on a muzzle brake. In its stock format the chinese variant really is a spray and pray and pray and pray and pray......

pimp it out if you want to, but by the time you are done, you could just buy a CZ 858-2.
Heres a pic of my SKS D
Choate stock (way better than the ATI)
Leepers scope mount (with side reciever screws to hold it better)
case deflector
8-32x50 scope (I have a new in box on for sale, $75.00 plus shipping)
AK style, pin on flash hider
NcStar bipod

TW25 what kind of muzzle brake did you have success with?
The "Monster" muzzle brake from P&D Enterprises in edmonton.

I don't think that they have a picture of it on the web site but it costs around $30 and is worth every cent. It is supposed to be twist on with 2 screws to secure it but the fit was so tight on my "D"s barrel I had to monkey with it a bit to get it on. I also lock tighted it and it does not move at all and I have put alot of rounds through it. Cleaning is more time consuming.

Do not get the Ram Line one. That is the first one that I bought and the stress from 200-300 rounds blew it right off the end of the barrel (P.O.S).

I got the brake that uses the spring pin from the front sight, you get an extended spring pin, works great and has worked for two crates of ammo without any problems(just a lot louder!). I also got this from P&D but I don't remember the brand. The twist one looked like cheese to me.
