SKS stock fitting and POI shift when warm?

I don't believe this is a factor in my case because all other SKSs shoots the same ammo consistently during the same range trip. Neither the gun nor the ammo was too hot to touch. None the less it is a interesting read. Thanks for showing us something new.

My pleasure, sir.
I mentioned the barrel wear because heat was a specific part of your thread title.

Keep in mind that a worn barrel need not be hot to the touch for heat to have an affect on accuracy. If the rifling is worn enough, just a few rounds could be enough to see a shift in POI and increase in.group sizes.

Slugging the barrel can be difficult without the proper equipment and set of calipers that will measure to 1000th of an inch (which aren't cheap either)

The cheap way to go would be to eyeball all of your sks barrel bores nd then compare the rifle in question.

Whatever the culprit, I wish you the best of luck in finding the cause and then a solution.

Good luck.

And please let us know what you discover.
