Sks stock preference?

the sks was placed in the order of age , the oldest is on top so it has to be a russian .

so Dar is right and it has been refurb , 95% of the russian are refurb .

when you see a beautiful laminated stock its most likely russian , not too common made by china and other countires .

laminated will be more common when the russian shipments arrives in a couple of weeks .:dancingbanana:

I don't like the original wood stock on my Norinco SKS. It is way too short, the grip is way too small and shallow, the forend is too thin and it's so soft that the metal now floats on it (lots of back & forth movement). Other wood stocks I've seen seem to be made of better wood, but they're still shaped the same way.

On the other hand, it's still the stock my SKS is wearing, mainly because every synthetic stock I've seen so far in Canada is being sold as if it was made of gold and not plastic (I feel there is something wrong paying more for a piece of plastic than for the whole gun it’s going to go to). But, if I ever find an appropriately priced synth stock, I'll get it.

Sylvain, did you order your Tapco stock direct? I thought they didn't ship to Canada. And, by the way, I can't see anything on your website  Thanks.

I just picked up a Tapco T6 for my SKS last weekend at Epps. Hanging on the wall, about 80 bucks I think.

Going to take it to the range and try it this weekend. I have the T6 on my 10.22 and found it really comfortable, so decided to try one on the SKS.

I also use the Tapco T6
I do miss the wood, sometimes I think about putting it back.
Then I think it would be easyer to buy a new one and leave it alone.
I like the second idea better, except there is so many guns to get
not enough money, let alone for rifles I already own.

Tell me about the custom work forward of the gas block.

For the scope mount --> Weaver 870 Express Shotgun scope mount. (####ing simple to install and work really great)
And the orignal sight work with the scope mount and the tri-rail too.

Shot 0-100' with sights, 100-600' scope. I use it for Deer Hunting.

I have a great night vision scope too for it. BTW i dont use it for deer hunting...
