Hello,

I'm removing cosmo from my SKS and following procedure described in that forum. As a last step I have to remove barrel from stock.
I removed a trigger group and magazine, but stock didn't come up after.
I see two bolts going thru the stock. Should they be removed as well ? (that is not described in the procedure). Did I missed something ?
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

You have missed nothing. You are lucky to have a stock that fits tightly to the action. A little force is all that is required. Try this: place the rifle upside down in the palm of your left hand. With your right hand tap upwards on the stock where you would rest your cheek. A few hard taps will loosen the stock. Gravity will pop the action into your left hand. ( do not touch the two bolts! )

Safe shooting.

Well, stock was easy ... disassemble the bolt to remove a firing pin is a challenge. Will try to boil..

No boil... Just use an auger punch to get her going.. Put the bolt on top of a drilled piece of 2x4 with the pin over the hole, start with the auger punch, finish with a pin punch, some light penetrating lube may help. By the way, you might require a rubber mallet to put'er back in the stock :)

Ok, I see. Already tried normal punch, drilled 2x4, rubber hummer ... Need to get auger punch and penetration oil -))
Thanks !

Crappy tire ones are great for that.. Even if you got regular silicone lube or remoil, it'll do the trick... Auger punch and a hard whack with a real hammer will get her going.. A couple more times and you'll be fine with pin punch alone.
