Hello guys and gals, I'm waiting to receive my Russian SKS and was wondering what stock would fit perfectly, I heard about the Tapco T6/Infusion but cant find it in Canada as usual only the USA have the awesome parts :(

Maybe Im wrong and you have a good suggestion for a great SKS stock available for us. Please let me know if that's the case :)

Thanks

SKS stocks

Hey man. I went through the same thing. Aftermarket add ons for the SKS are for the most part banned as far as crossborder trading. Keep looking at gun shows and try the EE on this site, you never know. If I see somthing I'll let you know.

#1 vote for fabsports here. Ordered my tapco from them by phone and had it in my hands very quickly. Very easy to talk to and deal with. Fits very tight and am happy with it but I should have got a bipod at the same time!!!!!!!! DOH!!!!!

well just tried ordering from fab sports what a joke i am on the phone with the guy and he did not want to take my order kept asking for an email.said i did not want to leave my credit card number in an email and he would not accept that so i guess he does not want business.

I have the original wood on mine and intend on keeping it that way. However, when I had my first SKS about ten years ago, I swapped the stock for the Dragunov model made by Choate. It was a very well made stock and was both rugged and good looking (sort of like myself, lol). Kidding aside, I would definitely recommend the Choate to anyone wanting to put some synthetic furniture on their SKS. Also, if you do put the Choate stock on, the ventilated handguard looks very good with the rest of the wood stock, if you switch them back and forth as I used to.

At the possibility to sound dumb, what is the EE ??

If it is the exchange section I cant login there.

It's the Equipment Exchange part of the forums and you have to apply for membership in order to see/post in them. I forget how the application process goes so someone else will have to fill you in on that - I think you might have to private message an admin/moderator or something. It can take a couple of days after messaging them before you get access.

Overall if you own a Russian SKS changing out the wood stock is not advised. These rifles shoot their best with a wooden stock. If you have or can get a Chinese SKS, these are best suited for the Tapco stocks. The wooden stock is properly bedded for the barrel (such as the design merits) and makes a stiffer fit compared to the Tapco ones.

Oh, now you tell me after putting up cash for a synthetic for one of my russians.Ya I know the blade bayo can get in the way but there are ways to fix that. Rats

Well, there aren't any that I have seen for a while but question.- Can anyone tell me whether a T6 grossly effects accuracy? I can only find general "it doesn't fit well so it won't shoot well" stuff. The T6 seems good for ergonomics, but if it shoots poorly then it's not worth it. Has anyone actually shot with one and noticed a difference?

I had a scope on mine so maybe this doesn't count but mine's great. I wasn't disappointed in it. The only thing I noticed is that it has alot more kick. But it looks cool and saves your original stock.
