Ok, I've searched Tapco in the SKS forum an been browsing for a while now and not seeing something about this item.

Does anyone here use a Tapco SKS Detachable magazine?
www .tapco.com/proddesc.aspx?Id=dcf4796f-7dce-47d6-a858-e1f54ed0992d

I love my SKS, but I really really wanted a D model, but people asking stupid prices for them so settled for a Norc Type 56 SKS instead.

Anyone have any experience with this item?

Reviews online are one thing, but first hand experience from my fellow nutz is what I prefer. Thanks.

I seriously doubt they make a pinned version of that, so no, I don't think that's legal in Canada at all.

also known as duck-bill mags , i got the 5rd plastic mag and it works well , much better than the john mason 5rd metal mag, poor follower design, those are junk.

if the 30rd plastic are anything like the 5rd plastic then you should go for it cos they look coooool.:D

ive just picked 1 up, looks good, 20 rds, all plastic though, fit in & out real nice, i will let u know when ive tried it, rumor is they work very well, looks great on my tapco stock with reddot..................

i havent posted any pics on this site yet so i guess its time to try, i will try tonight & if i fail i will email u sum pics, it feels & looks great!! a worthy addition to my vast SKS collection...................i need professional help with my addiction.........

I've seen that you can easily convert the SKS to take AK style mags. Are these parts (mags and conversion parts) easy to get or allowed here? I have an SKS but would really like a removable magazine. And not one with the stupid little arm protrusion on the top like a regular SKS mag.

Try to pick up a SKS "D" (detachable mag) model, mine came with a monte carlo wood stalk, but I put a STI folder on it and remains my favorite SKS shooter. They're modified to fit the AK mag. Mine still doesn't swap mags verry well but they work. The tapco plastic mags work much better in the fixed mag version. I've had the chance to see and play with mp5k's with the tapco stalk and now am looking for a new fixed mag unit to build. What can I say, your buddies addiction soon becomes yours.:sniper:

yes u r right! we picked up a few "m"s back in the day, they were a lot less lethal because of the stock & no bayonet, but they had the 18.5 bbl, which makes them ideal for a folder to reduce overall length, i still have a brand new bone stock unfired M in cosmoline!! My other sports ATI folder, wilson peep site, hi viz front site, wolf trigger kit & lots & lots of rounds thru it, ive sent lonewolf sum pics, hope he can post em better than me
