Got most tapco intrafuse stock put together but the handguard WILL not go on so I can lock the detent back into place. it almost looks like its too long/big for it to lock into place. I've done some very minor filing.. Any ideas? throw it in the garbage? leave it in the gun locker for 10 years?

I have installed these stocks for several friends and found they all seem to fit a little different. There's usually some file and fitting to do. Generally I have found the top hand guard was always to loose. Do what you can with it or put the wooden one back on,....paint it black & drill some holes in her, LOL

I've grinded it down a bit, but the detent still doesnt close. I'm noticing the rubber pieces that look raised in the front and back corners.. off to grind those down.. Don't ever invest or buy tapco!

That's exactly what I was thinking to myself every time I installed one for a buddy.LOL

My Tapco stock had the same issue. I had to use dremel to remove some metal. Make sure you don't take too much off, handguard will still lock but it will be a bit loose and will require shimming.

I used an exacting knife and cut away very tiny bits at a time and checked for fit after each small cut. It took forever but I have a nice snug fit now. I hope you managed to figure something out
