Always liked the look of the AK74 style muzzle brake, so I picked up a thread adapter for my SKS, and threw it on there...
First time I went shooting with it, and virtually the first shot - It blasted off and down the range...
Reattached it - Considerably tighter this time, and with the same results.
It will NOT stay on...
Also kind of embarrassing, to say the least -
Nothing like calling for the range to be inactive to dig around in the dirt for your muzzle brake while everyone else checks their groupings...
Anyway...
Any ideas how I would go about attaching it successfully, without having to drill or weld into the barrel?
(Its an old soviet rifle, and I hate destroying history, even if its not worth much)
Its a pretty badass looking brake, so I'd hate to "give up" on it -
I also hate the cheesy look of the 'wrap around your sight post' brakes...
