sks trigger issue

when i #### my sks the hammer will not hit the firing pin... nothing happens anyone know how to fix the problem??

aliitle more info would be nice. im gonna assume the safety is off. lol.

is the sks new? did you give it a good cleaning ?

was it working fine and then you got the problem?

it had been working fine until today, ive had it for a few years, yes the safety is off lol, ive tried taking it out putting it back in and oiling it
i can #### back the hammer but wen i puull the trigger nothing happens

When cleaning the bolt do you soak it in a solvent like Hoppes No. 9 or give it a good soaking with brake cleaner?? Might be powder residue build up inside the bolt, causing the firing pin to not move freely. This can also cause slam fires if the firing pin gets stuck, protruding out of the bolt.

from what i can tell the bolt is almost perfect its the hammer in the trigger mechanism that when the trigger is pulled isnt activating at all

First off is the trigger group in the rifle or out of the rifle. If you are trying to #### the hammer and pull the trigger to make the hammer drop with the trigger group out of the rifle the disconnector has to be positioned in the right position so the sear can be engaged.. There is a slot on the side where you can see this happen. If the trigger group is still in the rifle there is a possible concern it is not installed properly.

If your trigger group is out and sitting in a vice for example, after cocking your hammer you must first push down on the metal piece sticking out at an angle from in front of the hammer itself. You only need to push this piece down a little bit. As well, push it down and hold it down with a pencil or some other object, otherwise you'll get the hammer wacking you in the finger. Good luck.

Does the bolt rattle?
If so then go on to the next step. If not then completely strip the bolt.
Exame the leaf spring's on the trigger assembely and see if any are broken or there is a primer stuck in there.
If that's all fine check the dissconet bar and make sure it is still functioning well and that it get's depressed when the bolt is completely closed on the chamber.
If it's none of these then please try to post a vid or pic's of the issue.

I have the same issue going on with my trigger group as well. And 'yes', I have cleaned the bolt throughly, including the firing pin channel. There is obviously an issue somewhere in the trigger group, but not sure what it is. I am going to take it to a gunsmith in Edmonton and find out what the issue is.

the problem was something that i though was completely unrelated, i tried to make the sks use mags but mag for some resn didnt work in my norinco sks, thanks for the help guys, the mag works perfect in my dads siminov i guess thats wa i get for buying the cheap one haha

You might have some cosmoline in the trigger group. When I bought my Russian SKS (from Milarm in Edmonton BTW) I was shown how to disassemble it and was told it needed to be thoroughly cleaned of cosmoline before firing. I took the rifle down and the trigger group went into a coffee can that had some gasoline in it (best stuff I've found to get cosmoline off). I've never had the problem that's been posted in this thread, and I've run about a crate of ammo through the rifle.
