hi
this is probably a stupid question, but i purchased an sks, from trade ex (great condition, already cosmo free
)
I stripped it down yesterday and double checked everything according to the sks cleaning sticky thread
put it all back together
both before and after i took it apart, when you slide the charging handle back, it locks open when mag is empty, so you can load rounds
when the mag is open at the bottom, you can rack it and gently let it slide forward
in both these cases, the trigger never lets the firing pin do anything?
i havent loaded it with rounds until i take it to the family farm for some target practice later today or next weekend, just wondering if thats the normal behaviour?
im used to bolt actions where you can still pull the trigger and gently slide the bolt back in so its shut while not being cocked
does the sks (and most semi autos) only allow the action to do anything after its picked a round up from the mag?
i just wanted to make sure its operating normally before i take it out to play
Thanks!
