That's about the going rate here for that ammo.

You might want to check out the gunshow, they usually have some 7.62X39 for sale by the box.

Well thats were I bought the ammo, was at the Arms fair in Longueuil yesterday, but no one was selling crates, only boxes of 20 on stripper clips.

My bad, thought the gunshow as next weekend, this is what happens when you work 30 days straight

Did you try Districorp ? They have Hungarian surplus and Igman soft point.

I did the same, for a different gun show. Last Sunday I got up early, dressed and on the way out the door, then I thought, wait a minute, it's next weekend. Glad to see I'm not the only one.

Districorp is in Montreal.
If you go to the US and buy cases, DON'T get caught leaving the US with them! Export of this sort of stuff from the US has been widely discussed.
Case separations can be for reasons other than headspace. Gasport pressure and bolt carrier velocity could contribute to the problem. Commercial Sellier & Bellot ammunition is usually very good quality. Made in Czech Republic. May be the maker of the military ammunition, as well.

Naw I never try to bring a case over the border, they always checking me when I cross LOL. I checked the districorp website, all they have is Igman soft points non -corrosive, which is way more expensive, but would these be good for hunting ?????

Go back to the Districorp page and go a bit lower than the Ingman. They got crates full of Hungarian milsurp ammunition.

EDIT: Wait, you are looking for SKS minis, not the big 54mmR... I think Craig and me both got them mixed up.

Marstar has crates of the stuff, and they're between Ottawa and Toronto (I think...), shipping wouldn't be too bad, I should think.

plus since my ex wife has most my $$

simple cure to that dude. mail her a deer antler hat around oct or nov

Since I also want to hunt with this rifle I hope it likes Federal or Remington soft point.

i used, federal ammo (i think they were...it says FC around the base) to deer hunt. JSP bullets, but they passed right through without opening up much.

rick (building my chinese SKS into a gopher sniping gun :dancingbanana: ....pics to follow )

Is there anywhere you can buy in or around the Montreal are to save on the shipping??

Since Districorp is out of the Hungarian surplus, no.

The next best is Marstar, they are located in Vankleek Hill, just past Hawkesbury in Ontario. They don't have a store, its mail order only. The shipping shouldn't be too bad since they're so close.

Marstar shipes by Canpar. I live in an appartment building and when they delivered my crate, I was not home so they left it with my neighbour's wife  God, I don't think she knows what it was and I'm pretty glad she did'nt ask! :D
