I have a minty 1953 Izhevsk. It’s a refurb, but it has the uncommon laminate stock arsenal modified to address the bayonet slamming/cracking the stock. It’s an arsenal modified stock, not many of them floating around. All matching except magazine. Some parts are forced matched. It’s been arsenal parkerized. Bore is 10/10 full mirror. Unfired since refurbishment.

What kind of price do these fetch? I rarely see these for sale let alone one with a weird ass rare factory stock.

Does it Come packed in cosmoline and I will go $300 plus shipping and being nice with that.

Especially the BBQ painted ones.
I have processed/ handled over 600 sks and have seen 3 that would be considered bbq paint for lack of a better word, the rest were blued or a type of parkerizing. The 3, you could peel the coating off with a fingernail, the parked ones have a very hard coating. I noticed 2 different types/ colors, both very hard and muted/ non reflective which many shooters prefer and is similar to the way many rifles and shotguns come today.

In a few weeks when the libs get around to it, it will be worth whatever the buyback bimbo’s say it’s worth, though good luck ever getting actually paid.

If you want to sell, sell now.

Jesus, I never saw a non-blued SKS with a finish that I'd imagine anyone prefers.

Yep, some are rough fir sure but the finish is very tough so it depends on what you want to do with it. If collecting and just going to the range then blued would be best/original.If hunting or truck/ camp gun then my choice would be a parkerized one, many of those are fitted with new barrels too. The reflectivity is low on the parked ones, I have a few of each, even at the present day prices they are good to go.
The ukraine war needs to end and maybe we might get cheaper ammo again.

From a durability standpoint, I believe it on toughness.

My biggest gripe about the refinished ones is pretty subjective, but its the grey rear sights. Really find the black ones easy to see.

With the blued Chinese rifles looking better (to me) I go with those. Although blued Russians in laminate stocks are sweet.

Yea the new bunch of chinese sks are nice looking and seem tight, I am partial to the Russian birch stocks when they have the darker red/burgundy stain on them
