less informed buyers love catch words like RARE,, the more stupid stuff draws them in.. as long as the sks is in working order let the guy say whatever he wants lol.. up to the buyer to research what they are buyingI'd suggest GP since there are lots of 'less-informed' buyers there. And start ca $1K then reduce if you need to, but DO name it 'Rare'. You could research it on SKSBOARDS dot com. Lots of fellows there with Russian knowledge so you might ID the Year. Better info gets better bucks IMO. That Chrome bore is a great point, esp if not fired much. If you know someone with a borescope it would benefit you to 'really know' the condition of the bore,.
I can tell who you bought it off because of the hide it's laying on . the way prices are on these are going as in refurbished ones going for or asking $800 put $1200 on it and go from there. if you look at it you will see the inspection stamp on the right side of the stock. I'll bet that it's all matching. it will have the stamps at the cross bolt and there is a large rivet in the bottom of the mag . there will never be anymore like that ever coming in like it forever if this so called Government stays in power. if they do they will start at $800 I'd bet . that was hand picked .Hi i had purchased this rifle over ten years ago from a vendor on here. Thinking of selling this, what exactly do I have here and what is it worth? I have not cleaned or fired this rifle. Thanks
ponymusic - That is an 'ill-defined term' used by various vendors to indicate a 'better quality' rifle. Some 'v's have even called 'refurbs' "Supergrade" ! A lot depends on 'your desires' it seems. I had a '51 Tula that 'looked 'super', All #s matching 'except the mag', but had a 1" patch in the wrist-tang of the stock. And it was a refurb anyway. I never called it a 'Super' but some would. Also, sksboards-dot-com has mucho info in greater detail. Here's an older thread on here about this issue.

PS - 'Most' of the FTs that came in Cosmo were 'Un-fired' and in Excellent condition (I got one) but I wouldn't call them "Super-grade'; just normal for them. I still have the OEM stock as 'Un-used' since I put the works into my Tapco stock immediately.
