SKS VALUE

Hey weimajack; The as-issued IZH 2008 import 1954 Tula that you sold me in 2012 was my favourite of them all. Pin welded follower, all-matching and non-refurbished, nice Russian red stained birch stock with clear sharp cartouches. It ran everything I fed it: Hornady SST, Barnual, MFS, Prvi brass cased SP, etc.

You always had the best.

You speak the truth . hope your staying out of the Downtown core. looks like the night of the living Dead downtown .

Had that exact 'spec' as well, not too, too long ago, but up in the EE she went..or I traded it, can't remember. SKS was 1st 'gun' I ever bought..likely will be the last I as well..

Its funny that it cracks you up.

How similar they all are in construction and capability is even funnier

Hey if people want to pay way more for the same already overpriced rifle, that's cool. They can knock themselves out. Its somethin, tho lol

We should argue about the price of rice in China Joel. That would be fun.

You tell me, you seem just as keen to argue, despite the sanctimony.

Like I said, if people want to pay way more for some nearly identical version of an agrarian, inaccurate, hammer of a weapon that shifts around in a stock thats only varnished on the outside, makes 5 MOA with most ammo out there, and has an awful trigger, they can knock themselves out.

Sorry my not appreciating it is apparently a jimmy rustler. But giving opinions on the value of guns in a thread about the value of guns is fair game lol

Some are nice and new looking with mirror chrome bores. Others have been refurbished. Some marched around in training but fired very little, stocks beat up... there is a spectrum forsure. My french tickler is the nicest. I have a couple from weimajack back in the day also nice.

Well guys and girls, the SKS does exactly what it was designed to do.
I’ve seen examples that were buried in the ground just deep enough that you could reach through the sand and grab it rack the bolt and fire it with no issue.
I know any of the rifles i own would not do that.
The SKS and AK style platforms were never designed for accuracy or even maintenance.
They were designed with untrained and at the time potentially illiterate troops in mind.
For the most part they go bang when you want them to go bang.
A bit of a confidence booster for sure.
As for price? Whatever the market will bear.
As supplies get choked off the price will continue to climb.
Hang in there.

It pretty FUNNY that people are dumb enough to pay what they pay for those pos Guns 🤷‍♂️

It is.

And then I think about how its about the best weapon/service rifle we can still legally buy (second to Garand?) and it makes me want to cry.

Nor ever have to.

But they do deliver bullets onto man sized targets from 0 to 300 (give or take) meters well. Honestly, better sights and better triggers and I'd really like them more. And yep I know there are *some* options for the sights, optics etc
