I have VZ 58 and shot authentic russian SKS which was in good condition.
Honestly, they are about equally accurate. The catch is that CZ still makes VZ 58 and to find excellent Tula's SKS is very hard. If you do find one, it cost pretty much the same as CZ.
For me, deciding factor was that I can buy and replace a barrel on my CZ if I need to, with an SKS you are pretty much stuck.
CZ is much lighter, shorter and handier.
As for other aspects, such is toughness and reliability, SKS seems to be better. I am not saying CZ is not reliable, all I am saying is that SKS can take much more abuse. I mean I know a lot of hunters who are using SKS for hunting and no one seems to be using CZ 58. No sure why, but this is what I see.
All in all it is a personal preference. CZ is a little bit cooler because some military forces are still using it

. Would be hard to imagine Elite Special Forces unit with an SKS
