SKS, where have you been all my life.

- Lousy sights.
- Difficult to mount any type of optics or red dot. (you will go crazy buying all sorts of cheap crap mounts if you try)
- A pain in the ass to clean (if using the cheap corrosive primer ammo)
- Heavy and ugly (with a length of pull designed for 5'4" Siberians with short arms)
- Can't be used/not allowed at many ranges.
- 10 MOA accuracy (if you are lucky)
- Not too many uses (except establishing your mall ninja credentials at the range).

Otherwise OK.

Full disclosure: In submitting this review I am not now nor ever have been in the employ of any third world dictatorship trying to unload this junk.

who slapped the steel you couldn't hit damn lmfao!

Sights are fine, there are aftermarket peep or front sight replacements for cheap even if you want em.
Difficult to mount sights... yes, so I mean if you have vision impairment its not ideal but really why bother ?
Pain in the ass to clean?!?!?! LMAO You lazy boy! Take it down with a round and pour boiling water in her.. Corrosive solved. OR! OR! Get this, its huge... Don't shoot corrosive.
Heavy and ugly? Well, definitely not heavy lmfao ugly is a personal thing... Don't get a beat up one and they can look nice.
Cant be used?!?!?! Again don't shoot steel core ammo... The rifle is fine...
10 moa? Bro try aiming, they are more then that.
Not to many uses? Tell that to the deer my buddie snags with his I guess lmfao.

Russian power!!! The new Canadian enfield....

Not quite. The Enfield was in service as a main battle rifle for over 50 years. Until recently was in service with the Canadian Rangers and is still in service with some units in India.

The SKS was in service for a couple of months until the Russian replaced it (wisely) with the AK47. The Russian probably shook their heads, said "that was the biggest mistake we ever made" and pawned off as many as they could to China and North Vietnam. The rest were coated in cosmoline and 60 years later dumped onto the Canadian Market.

For plinking at the range it does just fine. There are plenty of SKS still in service around the world. For 250 you can’t find anything in Canada that compares.

Funny,,, the Americans left with their tails between their legs from those SKS.

Listen, the Russian weapon system is very reliable, I've had the Svt, Mosin, Sks, and the TT 33 pistol. The worst is the SVT, only because I didn't have the sense and patience to learn her. The others I've excelled in. Never hesitate to try a different platform.

If the SKS was such a crap, why the Chinese were manufacturing them till the end of 20 century?

Whole sale sports had deals back in the day, something like buy a box or 2 of ammo and get the gun free. Cant remember exactly how it went, just wish I had bought more than I did. Quite easy rifle to reload for as well.

There is a reason no foreign power wants to go back into places like Somalia. Everyone and there dog has an SKS.
They handed the US their @ss with sks rifles and rpgs in the black hawk down incident.... according to the movie makers in Hollywood anyways
When things get rough.... the sks will do just fine.

I mean the Chinese military for all of the 20th Century wasn't exactly a sight to behold. They only began modernizing their economy ~1985. Not that the SKS isn't a rugged reliable rifle, I'm just saying the fact the Chinese used it till recently really doesn't mean much.
