There is a chap in vancouver who tried building one 5-6 years ago , I saw it half done, I was surprised how far he gotten to without a proper machine shop but I havent heard what happened after , the chap is still around , he might chime in , he has a wealth of knowledge on this subject.

but then can you still call that an SKS ? probably not , the pic in the first page look like more and SKS with a homemade stock , im pretty sure it keep the sks trigger
 
Yea someone been working on one for many years. As long as I knew of him, I asked him a couple weeks ago how its going, said still in the safe, trying to find some FN parts to make the adapter for the handguards. I think hes trying to adapt the FN handguards to it and not just use a FN lower with a SKS.

actually asked about it couple weeks ago.. But said he never touched it in 5 years, just really gotta finish it.

needs a retaining clip for the handguard too

I know (edited) but I decided not to disclose his name, instead I left it up to him to chime in .

btw , I have a new FN handguard retaining ring for him for free if it will help get him to finish , hehehe.

btw , the trigger on the OP pic is a metric FAL trigger.

the L1A1 (aussy or brit ) lower and trigger group are identical to C1 but half the price , if I were you I would put an ad on EE instead.

The guy that did it originally (xtriggerman) didnt release any plans AFAIK. I believe he's trying to market these so its up to our imagination
