Hi, i have a question for iron sight. I know probably this question has been discuss many times but i want your opinion.
how did you adjust the zero with your sks? I see many place that put the sight to 100m and zero at 25m.
is this the best for target shooting ?
i have 123g fmj bullet.
Thanks for your reply and sorry for my poor english ☺

Thanks

If you want, you can set the rear sight slide for a specific range, and then adjust the front sight until the rifle is zeroed for that distance.
If you want your rifle zeroed for your convenience, for the distance at which you usually shoot, set the rear sight to the closest number, then adjust the front sight.

You will need a tool to screw the front sight up and down.

I have adjusted the sights of about 7 SKS rifles and all I do is set the sights to 100m and then dial it on on a standard target at 100m and then verify the 200m setting at 200m.

Definitely not the most efficient way.

^^^ This.

And no, it isn't super efficient. But at $0.17/shot, who cares? It's a fun day shooting and fiddling with your gear at the range.

I've got spare ammo to try bp's method sounds more fun than the 25m zero. Likely to end up doing both.

With the factory iron sights shooting even 5" groups can be hard so sighting in at 100 can be really fun. "Hmm, it's high, no, it's low, wait it's left.. wait a minute..."

Yup still up for it. Then hunker down with the 25m chart and dial it in to the same hole at 100 yards every time accuracy one can expect from an sks (russian that is - not the chinese knockoffs).

Simple procedure,I start at 25 yards using a 6" piece of black electrician tape at 90 degrees on the paper.Adjust the front post to get proper left /right regulated. At 50 yards with rear sight set on 100 yards get on the bullseye[should be a 1-2" group] Set up a 4" black target at 100 yards and fine tune front post up /down until all shots in centre of bull. Done! It will be a little high now at 50 yards.Don't use the first notch before the 100 yard setting as this is a 300 yard battle setting.Minute of man from the muzzle to 300 yards.Mine averages around 3" at 100 yards for groups. All on a claybird........Harold

Thanks all for the answer. I will try to adjust my sks next week. Normaly i use scope on all of my rifle but with the sks it's not a esay job.
Here we go with iron sight.

That sounds exactly like setting up my sks. Took me a while because I was only moving the front sight in small increments.

19 m first intersection, 170 m second intersection.

Gives you a 200 m max. point blank range.

Bullet (for the most part.... its an SKS) stays within 4" above and 4" below line of sight.
