one leather "1955"

Anyone else have any pre 1956 marked SKS/AK slings?

The stamps on the slings are often illegible.

i got a stamp that is somewhat legible but I can't make a date out on it.

My SKS is a 1950 that I picked up a few years ago. I see no date on the canvas sling, but there is some Russian writing I cannot understand.

All the pre 1955 canvas slings I have seen have green painted metal or blued.
If its silver or gold in color its probaly a AKM or AK74 sling

Its not a "r" I think its a "c" not sure if that makes any difference. The rifle is a 1950 which came from the US about 20yrs ago. Actually when I look at the sling, I am also not certain it is a "7" maybe a "1" hard to read. I have no real idea if its an original sling.

SKS were stored with out slings and when they were exported the russians would just reach into the majic bin of slings lol. So most of them are AKM/AK74 slings. very few are early slings and you can tell because there marked like mine.

Dang those green painted ones were really keepers? I got rid of all of the ones I had. They seem to have came in the first Bell shipment.

Yup lol they seem to be the only orginal slings the rest are AKM/AK74 slings
