SKS's being re-classified ?

Having talked to several RCMP members I personally believe the SKS is in their sights for a few reasons. Being able to make it slam fire full auto (a non real full auto and unafe condition) would just be the excuse to ban it. The SKS has been turning up at drug busts and other crime scenes (im not saying actual shootings) and some of these guns have been traced back to legit gun owners who are staw purchasing them for gang members... or so the story goes.

Steve
Then they should get off their asses and get the bad guys, enough with blanketing everyone for a couple bad guys, long prison terms, if they kill someone then kill them, Capitol punishment, don't punish honest citizens because some jackasses did wrong, punish them! I am not taking the hit for them, that is not democracy is it! We need heavy sentences for the wrongdoers. Leave the good guys alone!

We not privy to some kind of insider information on what goes on with the RCMP brass that make the decisions to come after guns. We have just been told that this is an ongoing issue for them and these guns have turned up at serveral drug busts/ crime scenes and were traced back to legal purchases. Its only my opinion this is part of the story. As they say opinions are like a$$holes...

The fact that they are inexpensive is what makes them attractive to criminals...

Exactly! A criminal can own an sks, but an sks doesn't make a law abiding citizen a criminal.

Unfortunately basic logic eludes most people. ..

Look, if you're going to interject with logic, reason and common sense, this discussion has no where to go .... ;>) Your point makes a lot of sense and applies to ALL guns.

in the eyes of some urbanites, anybody who owns a firearm is a criminal baby-killer terrorist to be.

The instructor is probably an RCMP shill ; a lot of pro firearm instructors are being replaced with pro RCMP instructors who have their own anti gun agenda.....there are many semi autos that the RCMP want to be restricted , or banned out right ; the SKS is just one of many....

Don't they all have to now ? Be rcmp shills I mean?

So is there anything written anywhere about the sks being reclassified? Something this important should've factual or be removed from this forum? Or is this just BS? Post proof or shut it down.

When the RCMP do it, you will know it... By the way got another russian SKS, cant be to carefull... JP.

Unfortunately the more SKS's there are out there, the more likely some conehead will use one to commit a crime and they'll be that much closer to prohib status

Horse is out of the barn already with SKS, magazines, mini14 m305 etc. They are all over the country. Many of them owned by people that wouldn't even know if they end up prohibited.
