skulls and head shots

And if a deer runs off 30 yards most likely you will never find it
On island I will stick with the headshot regardless what others say I trust my own personal experience over anything else

Yeah, its truly amazing how thick the brush can be there...in places if you can't walk on downed trees you can't really get through it. Have you tried for the ELK out there?

I have been threatening for years to go elk hunting but in all honesty it's too much work
Hard to justify all the time and pain and suffering that goes with a elk hunt here when we have about two months of some of the most incredible deer hunting a guy can imagine

(But I would love to go for my first elk hunting on the mainland )

I really hope WestCoastshooter post some pictures
The last time I got to go hunt Naiden Hurbor between me and my two hunting partners we got 97 Blacktail deer in a one day hunt
The commercial fish boat we were using look like hell nothing but hooves and antlers blood everywhere it was awesome
Sum of it went to elders but most of it going to single mothers

He's not talking about farm animals
Actually it's not a record it's quite common here I think most of you would be quite surprised at how many deer one man can harvest in a year if he knows what he's doing and where to go and believe me most of us Haida Gwaii guys do know what we're doing and where to go
I know Who WestCoastshooter is he is a very good hunter he does supply meat in the freezer for almost a dozen families every year
Most guys from our little islands will harvest more deer in one season then most CGN Will in their entire life (not trying to start anything just stating a fact)

seen, thanks for explanation

This is still going?????

Maybe I'll get out my sling shot and a bag of marbles and show you all how it is done on head shots!!!

Also, when I was a kid I used to charm to deer into submission, who needs a .22LR. :)

Even though the season for deer is almost open for seven or eight months I'm not sure
us local guys will only hunt for two months out of the season we let everybody else have a crack at first and we sit and watch wait till the deer are ready and in their prime
When the deer are well into the rut it is pretty easy to bring in
It doesn't really matter if these were headshot or not you can't tell the difference when they're in the freezer
I lost all my pictures but l stoled this pic off a buddy of mine not bad for three guys in two day hunt
picture of what Westcoastshooter is talking about
The first picture is the back of an old crab boat these guys are hunting in a favorite spot there is no road access only way in is by boat
Overhear all of us have been taught to take the headshot and it has worked for Are grandfathers it'll work for us
like I said most guys living here will shoot more deer in one season then most will in their whole lifetime we might just mite know a bit about hunting deer
And yes we all started with a 22lr when we were kids HAAAHAA
