SL-8 or Swiss Arms

Both can be very accurate. SL8 can be customized a lot (read spend a lot of money) but it has a poor trigger and unless you are a fan of polymer the SAN gun is a more robust piece. The SL8 has a lot of fans here in the states...of course the pre-ban 550s and 551s cost $10,000+ here. Both of these are or started life as SL8's:

If only you knew how badly I want a G36c/G36c lookalike... it's killing me. :(

My two cents ... Ive had both.

HK - well made durable but BIG for a 5.56 rifle. I had one with a Top Notch kit G36K stock and AR15 magwell adapter (10 round mags) and it was very accurate. The fact remains that Germans make good kit. The G36 mags were also $100 more than I wanted to spend at the time. Again for someone under 6" its a BIG rifle ... and optics such as Eotech and others were limited. I ran a Hensoldt optic and it was fine but a red-dot wasnt an easy option. Considering that TN gear is limited in Canada .. a similiar set-up would be unavailable now. Overall a $3k venture in that configuration. The standard HK SL8 stocks suck ass.

G36 forgery .. the only way I would run this rifle...

SAN Green Classic - bought one from TSE and it was a perfect "out of the box" factory rifle. Swiss detail and a well made rifle. All the buzz about these guns is all true. They are NICE. Although the 5 round limit was a problem considering I had 10 rounders available in the AR15 pattern mags. This rifle was also picky with ammo and the cheap 55grain crappy ammo available here. wisj I could get RUAG Ammo. In any case considering that CanAm is making better priced 30/5 mags there maybe alternatives to SAN pricing ....

Green Classic ...

In either case I wasnt willing to part with the AR15's for one of these rifles. They were both great but for me ... not keepers. There are others out there in the non-restricted rifles out there that maybe better ...

I have an SL8:

Very happy with it. With 77gr, I easily shoot sub-moa. I'm also happy with the trigger, I'm used to shooting the C7 so... As for the stock, well I'm used to it now. Not the best for standing or kneeling but I live with it. It's really great when lying down, and I actually like the look.

Tbostic and Chopstix kid cut the SL8 receiver and plastic weld and use metal brackets to attatch a rear section from a doner G36 or a Gen III stock block conversion. You then use a real G36 trigger housing and buttstock.
