SL8-4 vs Tactical Elite

I am new to this site but do have shooting experience (7 years full time sport rifle shooting-target only)
Went with a friend to a local gun range first time in Canada
He got AR 15 sub produced by IDS (Imperial Deffence Services) out of England at 223/556

After trying his AR15 sitting and then standing at 100 meters I came to the conclusion that I need to by one of the following:

HK SL8-4 or
Steyr Tactical Elite

Steyr makes more sense because it has an adjustable cheek and butt

Any thoughts on this guys?

Seriously though, you could build a kick-ass AR-15 and a pile of ammo for the money either of those would be.
 
I found the Sl8 thumbhole stock uncomfortable, but those are my hands. Its a tack driver though. The stock didn't matter to me as I'd bought it to convert. I've heard others really like the stock though. I'm guessing it is better if you have smaller hands as I'm a bigger guy. Not good for SL8's or Honda Civic:D.

Don't know about the Steyr aside from they make damn fine firearms.
