Can anyone give me a current ballpark figure for an SL8. It has with it, the carry handle and rail tops. 5 mags and a pelican case.
Colour black.
I've never looked hard at one so cost was not relivent for me until now.
Low round count.

Any help? Thanx dudes.:)

Wolverine's website helped me out with this one.

SL8 slightly used - 2,114 - %10 = lets call it $2000
5 x SL-8 5 Round Magazines = 275 (magazines don't loose that much value IMO, so thats retail)
Pelican Cases are what, $250 bucks give or take?

Total =-- $2525

I paid 2,500 for mine, but I think I might have paid a little too much. I would imagine the rifle new with a couple of mags and a case would be around 2,000 plus tax. Slightly used, I would imagine 1,600 to 1,800 with 5 mags. If the carry handle has the integrated optical sight, add another 800 to 900. The pelican case is probably worth about 200. Keep in mind that I'm no expert - hopefully someone will jump all over this and get the thread going.

bone stock SL8-4 with mags and such will easily run 3K (with tax etc)

Think a Black Special would have worked out cheaper, but the mags were the biggest consideration for me. Even the Thermods work well with this :)

About 1800 for the gun with two mags. The extras, roughly at list if they're unmarked.

Ask about the control bolt (aka "cam pin") - it's the only part that really wears. Also ask about the 'dreaded crack', which should knock a couple of hundred off.

Thanks to everybody who helped:D

So now that I am learning about the SL8 and G36, apparently late in the game, I've got a lot more questions. When I didn't have one, nor any money or reason to buy one, I wasn't paying attention.

I remember reading some stuff about the crack, was in around the mag well area?

The crack would be at the seam infront of the bolt catch. "Most" of the time it's because somone lets the hammer fall onto the bolt catch when the lower is separated from the upper.

Even with the crack, functionality doesn't change.

Wow! Awesome job. Looks really nice. I might have to make myself one when I have enough cash to cover all the accessories.

My personal opinion is that the SL8/G36 is about the coolest non-restricted you can get. I hope to start piecing one of these together in the near future.

Having shot the Black Special I do hae to agree that they are nice. The Sl8 has alot of options, namely the AR15 10 round mags option ... The Sigs dont offer that...
