Has anyone had any luck with getting these parts in Canada? Ive emailed a few places and no luck to date.

The G36 conversion stock kit is pretty cool.

Thanks for the help with this guys.

The 2nd question is: Can anyone recomend a good gunsmith that can swap the trigger group out between the lowers?

Im only assuming that the factory warranty is null and void at this point :(

Swapping

I picked mine up in the States a while back. Swapping trigger parts is easy and they provided instructions with the stock. No need for a gunsmith. I just followed the instructions and was done in about 20 minutes. I think you can down load the info from the HK PRO web site.

Rich.

I got mine from this guy, who did the export papers as well:
ETSS
5231 South SantaFe
Unit 5C
Littleton CO 80120
etssusa@usa.net
Werner
303-798-5604

Swapping the trigger part is not "easy", but it isn't rocket science either. There are online guides with pictures.

My conversion I did last year, Top notch kit aquired from Werner @ ETSS, He's great, and I highly recomend.

Its the eye candy you add to it that stabs your pocket. Rifle, eotech, and Top notch kit are the largest hit. Above is around 4000 - 4500 as dressed.

Maybe Wolverine Supplies can get this stuff? I notice there are some G36 parts on their price list.

So if you just swap out the SL8 stock for the G36 you buy from this guy at ETSS, is that it or is there more? Somebody said something about a trigger earlier...

Eyecandy could be expensive, but I'm sure if you were cool with a little less than what Hellpit has you could save a lot (bipod, light, laser, eotech, foregrip, muzzle break, AR15 magazines etc.). Maybe if you were just going for a stock G36 look you could save on those items.

This is a regular old G36 without all the bells and whistles. How much work would be involved making a plane jane SL8 into one of these:

Top notch kit appx $400.00 or so, at least it was last year.
G36 Optics 3x = $454.00 or $958.00 for red dot combo
Flash Hider = $40.00 + $100.00 to thread the barrel
Ar15 Mags = $40.00 each (Unless you can get ahold of rare G36 mags)

These are last year appx prices.. Depends how far you want to go.

Last real G36 I saw was asking somewhere in the 8K range, besides SL8 in non restricted in Canada :)

I understand the that the SL8 takes standard G36 optics such as:

handguard, optic / reddot combo? Anyone know of Canadian availaibility for these? I had seen some in the GTA about three years ago.

The G36 shorter handguards also fit, but with a 18.5" bbl reduction this may look goofy.

The G36 and G36K are non-restricted in Canada.

Optics you can order from your local HK dealer, although you won't like the price or the waiting time, or hang out on US bulletin boards until one comes up for sale.
