Does any body have some pics of the underdide of the long factory style rail from a SL8 they could share with me? would like to know how it attaches and a total OA-lenth. Looking to maybe use one of these to gain some height to sights on another project. Looking to emulate the POF style rail system. PM or post would be much appreciated, Thanks

the exact over all length is 20-11/16"
the rail attaches with a similar design to dove tail scope rings for a .22 and then pinched tight with the screws.
i cant think of a much better way to discribe it... so heres a picture. it will notsimply slide onto a weaver style rail. they are specific to the SL8/g36.
if this might still work for you, i may consider selling this long rail if you need. im in airdrie

Just incase you dont know, you can cut the long one on a mitre saw (at 45 degrees) and it'll make a perfect short one. You wont know the difference between that and astore bought Short rail.
