Hi All,

Getting a little crazy into the gun buying, and I'm thinking this one will be my last one for a while (I hope). Anyhoo, any thoughts on a 7 month old SL8 with low round count (<200) for $1900? Fair? Smokin deal? I know Del Selins has a NIB one for $2195 plus taxes, so I'd be saving about $400-500 right off the bat... any comments on the gun itself are also welcome. Accurate to 300, 400, 500 etc yards?

I wouldnt call $1900.00 a smoking deal. I paid $1600.00 for mine back in Feb, Less then 200 rounds down the barrel, looked brand new, that was a smoking deal. There has been a few on the EE since before I started looking, back in Oct, and some of them are still there because the price is too high. What version is the one for $1900.00? -4?, -5?, -4 with built in optics, or bipod? Accessories for this rifle are really expensive, so any extras should be mentioned.

As for the rifle, its a beauty! I'm really happy with mine. Accurate, non-restricted, and looks damn good. Ive only shot it at 100 and 200 yards, i get about .75" at 100 yards, I dont have enough data to give a good estimate for 200 yards. Im still working on a good load for it. It will require heavier bullets, so you will need to reload. 69-77 seem to work best, I stick with 75 grain.

hmm, not sure of the model. i believe that it is a stock SL8, one 5 round mag. No bipod, no built in optics, but it does come with a Bushnell 3200 3x9 scope (approx $150 value?). pic below.

Although I am not a big fan of the SL8, it has a few good points. The big one is the fact that it is non-restricted. They are a good solid firearm.;) True for most H&K firearms.

The scope you now mention is worth more than you think. It is more like a $250 scope, and a good one at that. Nice combo. If you like it, buy it.:D
 
sl8's are great toys. if that deal didnt work out for you, i have a sl8-5 with the sl8-4 rail that includes the factory g36 bipod for sale. it has only one mag through it so baisically new. you can have it for 2 grand.
 
$1900.00 for that rifle with the Bushnell 3200 3x9 scope is a deal. That scope is at least 250.00, plus taxes and shipping. I would take that if I didnt already have an SL8.

Offer him $1900.00 shipped and your golden!
 
I have never heard of anyone who tunes them, or any kits for them. Actually they are pretty decent right out of the box. I wouldnt change mine, unless it was a DIY project which didnt cost anything.
