Slam-fire shotguns

Also, i saw another video of what i think is this "slam fire" shooting , some guy with an 870 tactical. I'm guessing this is due to an aftermarket modification not stock to the 870? Or my eyes are worst than i thought lol!

There have been "speed" pump-shotguns too (Winchester 1300's?), but AFAIK they are not slam-firing. :yingyang:

Seriously... Wtf is the deal with noobs so horny for making LISTS of everything!?

Lets make a list of black rifles... list of the shortest restricted pistols.... list of special shotguns....

How about you stick around a while, do some casual reading, and learn a thing or two.... Lists only benefit those outside of our community, not us.

Very constructive, oh ye with many posts...

I like folks who criticize based on post counts.

I'm sure you have awesome internet cred. Not questioning it. But there are folks out there that listen 90% and talk 10%. And BTW, I've been reading this forum longer than you have. ;)

I hate to help lead this thread further astray but I couldn't agree more.

A homeschooled 10yo might have 10 hours a day to rack up a huge post count while not knowing JACK SH*T. At the same time there are 80yo vetrans or hunting guides or target shooters or gunsmiths who just aren't that into computers or don't feel like adding a "me too" to every post.

Or maybe they are just too busy out actually shooting as opposed to sitting in front of a computer every day.

Disclaimer: I'm not critisizing anyone in particular here. Just want to point out that falling into the habit of judging the merit of someones contribution by post count might be a little misguided.

I agree;), seriously i do agree though. also think alot of people are becoming afraid to post or reply due to all the personel attacks and bickering lately, i myself am absolutly no expert and find myself trying hard to pick my words carfully so as not to be flamed or ripped apart.

Amen to that.
Both of my 97's "slam fire" but just a word of caution to add.
The forearms on original 97's are prone to cracking and giving one a couple of hard slams even with light loads can leave you with a left hand full of walnut firewood.
 
Many of the older .22 pump rifles will also fire if the trigger is held back, and the action cycled. Winchester 1890, 1906, 62 come to mind, as does the Rossi M62 repro.
But what is the point in doing this? Its a design quirk, and has little practical use.

Actually, I didn't even look at your post count or join date... I just assumed you were a noob because you had such a hard on for making the next OIC so easy for them....

You have no idea how long I've been reading this forum, guy. For all you know I was banned 4 times before starting this account.

For shotguns that are potentially 100+ years old? :eek:

That'd be a new low, even for our foes...:(

But, speaking more practically, the slam-fire (cap)ability has been common knowledge for a very long time (Ithaca 37's made as "late" the 1950's could do it ;)) so, in my usual naivety :redface:, I'd be more inclined to doubt chances of a sudden policy-change based solely on a CGN'ers list of 3 shotgun models...:yingyang:

I can't speak for everyone, but the problem I see is this need to make a list in the first place. Sure, this example may be far out there... but I'd like to see it discouraged anyway. How does this listwhoring benefit us? It doesn't. It only benefits them.

???? I'm not following you, please enlighten us, slamfiring on these shotgun is not a malfunction at all and is been known by shooters for decades.

If you didn'nt know about it until now just say so, theres nothing dangerous about it.

Again :), and I while I respect the opinions of my fellow CGN'ers here :yingyang:, I think there's a simple reason for making such a list: planning future acquisitions! :D

Am I the only one who's ever made a firearms wish-list ;), and checked the E & E (often! :redface:) to gradually acquire the items on it? :confused:
